☆R●gR4f☆ Luvv this sooo much. The shows that involve this band was firmly behind the 'Orange Curtain' (O.C.) not Los Angeles, and you'd best have been invited...or else. Read TSOL's J. Grisham's "American Demon," and it'll give you a great deal of insight to these SoCal beach cities bands irrepressable attitudes behind these fxxxn legendary songs! We need more OCxLBCxSo.Bayx HermosaBeachHuntingtonB.......tunes. Gr8 music to lose yer heads in the best way...☆Respect &Admirations☆up +he Gummos too-+han Favorite track: Life's A Bore.

kevin bruce If you’ve been a member of the Punk Rock Underground as long as some of us...then you’ve heard of BLADES. My earliest recollection of this amazing band, were in the Old Show Flyers from gigs long passed, sharing the bill with all off the best bands from the late 70’s and early 80’s here in Cali.
The only recordings I was ever able to track down from them, were on the VINYL ONLY version of BYO records, “Someone Got their Head Kicked In”. Thats until GUMMOPUNX were able to dig these beauties up, and give me the love I SO DESERVED!
The opening track “Your Exit”, is a total RIPPER-with its catchy opening bass line, and blistering rhythm guitar, and the lead guitar shreds the 4 track to bits....and then it ends-leaving you panting and gasping for air (cause if youre not slamming, or skanking to this shit, then you should go listen to Culture Club)!
There isnt a single song on here that doesnt belong. No filler garbage. No ‘iffy’ tracks, just pure adrenaline pumping-one minute/ one and a half minute blistering jams, that left me wanting more.
“Hung On A Pin” is by far my favorite track on this album, with its chorus “To my brain-gimme drugs gimme drugs-To my head-gimme drugs gimme drugs” sits properly in the minds of those of us who marched to our own beat during our teenage years.
“What Are You Gonna Do”, “Had Enough”, “How Do You Know”, “Living In This World” and “Life’s A Bore” are all ‘A’ Sides in my opinion. The dedication to their craft as young angst-filled musicians can be heard in the mastery of “Naked Ladies and Dirty Dogs”. The bass player knows his instrument inside and out, and it becomes evident in the ‘funk-style’ chops he adds partway through.
The pure velocity, and nihilism that comes through in these tunes-MORE THAN MAKES UP for the poor quality of the 4 track they were recorded on-or the deteriorating tapes they were made on. This is one of my FAVORITE albums of all time, and is always playing on my bandcamp app whenever I’m lost in Iphone hell, or surfing the internet. If you havent bought it yet-BUY IT NOW. Cause if you don’t, you’ll kick yourself the next time you’re at a party and the DJ spins it...ITS THAT GOOD! Thank you GUMMOPUNX, but especially to my SoCal older brothers, BLADES!!! —Kevotonic from ‘B’ Street, Central California

about

10 song MLP from Blades on Gummopunx Records.
Blades is an early Huntington Brach Punk band, these songs are from 1979/1980 demo.
They never released anything else than 3 songs on a BYO Compilation with there later singer.
This is the raw and great early material, classic early LA Punk, that should have been released back in the day allready!
